The Gospel of Christ and the teachings of his Church guide the work of the USCCB. The work of the Conference is rooted in three general mission goals. The first mission goal is to act collaboratively and consistently on vital issues confronting the Church and society. The second is to foster communion with the Church in other nations, within the Church universal, under the leadership of its supreme pastor, the Roman Pontiff. The third goal is to offer appropriate assistance to each bishop in fulfilling his particular ministry in the local Church.
The Irish Catholic Bishops’ Conference (also known as the Irish Episcopal Conference) is the assembly of the Bishops of Ireland exercising together certain pastoral offices for Christ’s faithful on the whole island of Ireland.
The Conference enables the Bishops to exchange views and share their wisdom and experience in order to promote the common good of the Church in Ireland. General Meetings of the Irish Catholic Bishops’ Conference normally take place on a quarterly basis.
The Irish Catholic Bishops’ Conference seeks to build effective consensus among the Bishops, thereby contributing to the unity of the Church in communion with Pope Francis. Through its links with the Church in neighboring countries and across the world, it strengthens and enriches efforts to increase faith and proclaim the Gospel message to all nations. At the same time, the Conference fully respects the personal authority, responsibility and ministry of each individual Bishop within his own diocese.
The Society of Catholic Scientists is an international lay organization founded in June of 2016 to foster fellowship among Catholic scientists and to witness to the harmony of faith and reason. The Society hopes to answer the call of Pope St. John Paul II that ‘members of the Church who are active scientists’ be of service to those who are attempting to ‘integrate the worlds of science and religion in their own intellectual and spiritual lives.’ The Society will do this through annual conferences, symposia and seminars, discussion groups, lectures, and other activities.

Parousia believes that by introducing people to Jesus, many will choose friendship with him over everything else. And so become his disciples. Parousia begins this process of evangelization by reaching out to already-connected Catholics, inviting them to participate in the mission and forming them for mission. Catholic disciples who are formed and activated for mission then invite others into friendship with Jesus, just as they were, themselves, invited.
